Since 4 weeks we are boarding Quanto (calling name Dougal). He is a dog out of the q-litter of last year. Since his owner had plans on training him in obedience and schutzhund later on, Dagmar picked out a puppy for him with all the qualities of a "schutzhund dog".

Meanwhile Quanto is 9 months old. His owner does not have the time at this moment to teach "Dougal" the basic in obedience and schutzhund. Since Dougal is still very young and Dagmar does not believe in starting the full training at this age, she will teach him everything he needs to know for being a good family dog during so called "playing sessions". The male will play with her and at the same time will be tought how to sit, how to heel and how to lay down and stay with and without a leash.

Four weeks Dagmar needed time to get the trust of this male. This only can be only done with play and having him around her, in fact both trainer and dog need to get to know each other and trust each other. We finished this part and now is the time when Dagmar can begin a little bit with training. At first only for maybe 5 minutes each time.

Schutzhund training she started with him last Wednesday. He has so much potential in this field. It will be a pleasure for her to train this dog.

Dougal will be with us for about another 5 monts until he moves back with his owner to Scotland. Dagmar has plans to show him at the fall show in October.

We did open up this page for him now, so his family can view his development while he is staying with us.

Quanto is a son from our "Indra" (part working line female) and of Grizzly, the son of our famous sire "Gustl von der Köhlertanne". We are so pleased about the development of this male dog, that we maybe will repeat this combination for the third time this fall/winter. Since Indra will be taken out of the breeding program in 2009, we will have one more chance to breed such great puppies with the above described qualities.

From our previous w-litter we kept the female "Wanya" and hopefully she will develop just like Quanto and will take over Indra`s place one of these days. For her we also will open up a new page very soon.

Quanto. 9 months old

Quanto is a very masculine male

He is very big,

has a good bone structure

and a beautiful dark head

He is very alert

sees everything

and loves to play

He does not let go and loves to play tug

For being a dog part out of the working line,

he has an exceptional nice budy

A very good back line

and good angulations

A beautiful dark head with dark eyes

An extremely good pigmentation

Quanto watching his toy

Now he is after the "Beißwurst"

brings it back

and does not want to let go off it
