26. August 2004 Today we took our Nora and Queeny tracking out in the field. We are training Nora at the moment for VPG 2 and with Queeny we startet to teach her a few weeks ago.

Nora is starting to track

She keeps her nose very close to the ground

She found her first object

Now she is coming towards the end

Queeny at the beginning of the track

She also is doing very well

At this moment her nose comes up a little bit

I gave her the command "Such" and she keeps on going

She still needs some help to lie down at the moment when she found the object

Later on she has to do this all by herself

21. July 2004 The owner of "Orby vom Haus Barrett" did send us these nice pictures, which were taking during training for the upcoming schutzhund trial in fall this year. The dog is little over two years and is doing that well. She had just passed the first obedience level with her dog and would like to start in Schutzhund VPG 1 this fall. We know, that this kind of training takes up a lot of time, but it is so amazing to work with your dog with good trainers.

This picture was taken in 2001 at a trophy competition in "schutzhund". At that time our 8 year old Barrett came in 2nd place

11. July 2004 Today a friend of mine with his male dog and myself with Nora entered as a team in a trophy combetition held in our Club at our home town. We entered in VPG 1 (SchH 1), Nora had to show obedience training and the other dog the schutzhund part. Nora and I achieved 88 points in the obedience part and our friend with his dog achieved 95 dogs in schutzhund part. We as a team came in 2nd place.

At the moment Nora looks more like a shorthair dog, but she had lost a lot of her coat after she had her pups. This is natural. It will all come back within the next few weeks.

To reach 88 points from 100 is very good, because a trophy competition gets judged a little harder then a regular trial

Since I am preparing Nora already for VPG 2, we trained her a little bit in schutzhund after the competition. Here are some pictures of her in action

Maybe in a few months we are ready to try for VPG 2. We still have to do some more training in tracking. During the summer months it is very hard to find open fields to track on. We have to wait a few more weeks.
